How One Woman Stopped Settling and Started Asking for More
When I first met Rachel, she described herself as “the peacekeeper.”
At 42, she had a thriving career, two kids in school, and a never-ending mental to-do list. From the outside, things looked fine (good even). But she felt like she was constantly shape-shifting to meet everyone else’s needs.
“I don’t even know what I want anymore,” she said in our first session,
“I just know I don’t want to keep living like this.”
Rachel had just come off a work call - yet another project added to her plate without her input - when her youngest asked if she could help make cupcakes for the school bake sale.
She smiled and said yes, of course.
But something cracked inside.
Not because she didn’t want to help her daughter. But because she realized:
She didn’t say yes out of love.
She said yes out of obligation.
Again.
She had no room left for herself, and it showed up in her body (tired), her relationships (resentful), and her work (disconnected). That night, she googled “how to stop people-pleasing” and landed on my website.
When Rachel joined my Private Coaching Experience, we didn’t start with productivity hacks or time-blocking apps.
We started with her.
Using the Enneagram, we discovered she’s a Type Nine - the Peacemaker.
Nines are intuitive, steady, and supportive. But under stress? They disappear into the background. Their voice gets lost.
That awareness alone was a lightbulb moment.
She said, “I’ve been so focused on keeping the peace, I never considered that I’m allowed to want more.”
Week by week, we worked on:
Identifying what she actually wants—without guilt
Practicing self-advocacy in small, doable ways (a new boundary at work, a real “no” to a friend, a bold request to her partner)
Letting go of the rules she’d been living by that weren’t even hers
Using her Enneagram insights to build a life aligned with her values
She didn’t have to burn her life down. She just needed to return to herself.
Three months later, Rachel’s still in the same job, still a mom, still juggling—but now, she’s no longer invisible in her own life.
She speaks up in meetings.
She requests what she needs at home.
She stopped apologizing for having desires.
She told me, “It’s not that I’ve changed into someone else. It’s that I finally stopped hiding who I am.”
The Truth About Designing a Life You Love
It’s not about being louder or doing more.
It’s about being clearer—about what you want, how you operate, and what no longer fits.
The Enneagram helps you uncover the patterns that have quietly shaped your choices for decades.
Private coaching helps you rewrite them.
